TL;DR - I co-founded Poplar Homes in 2014 with Greg and Rico. I lead sales and marketing. My background is in startups, real estate, and marketing.
I was born in Louisville, Kentucky and raised in a grey blanket up in Seattle, Washington.
At the age of 21, I dropped out of Santa Clara University to build a company in an ironclad industry: real estate. With less than $10k in the bank, we created Poplar with the goal to be THE friendly property management company for property owners and renters.
Now, we manage over 13,000 doors (homes) across 11 states and 18 major metros in the US.
I am excited and passionate about solving such a real, tangible problem. Everyone needs a place to call home, and I get the opportunity to impact that experience. Brainstorming new ways to manage someone's home is like coming up with new ways to surprise or shock an audience with a great film or marketing message.
Poplar deals with people's investments, homes, and livelihood. Our input directly affects the day-to-day outcomes of life and home. That is a pretty awesome superpower to have.
We've raised over $75m from both Tech and Real Estate investors including Google's Chief of AI and the former CEO of Century 21.
